Ingredients:
1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
1 1/2 cups of pure Waterford Bee Company Wildflower Honey
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional for garnish: whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or toasted almonds
Instructions:
Prepare the Pie Crust:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
If using a homemade pie crust, roll out your dough and gently press it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim and crimp the edges as desired.
For a store-bought crust, simply unroll and fit it into your pie dish.
Make the Filling:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and honey until well combined.
Add the heavy cream, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly combined.
Bake the Pie:
Pour the honey filling into the prepared pie crust.
Place the pie dish on a baking sheet to catch any drips and transfer it to the oven.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is just slightly wobbly.
If the crust begins to brown too quickly, cover the edges with aluminum foil or a pie shield midway through baking.
Cool and Serve:
Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours. This lets the filling set properly.
Once cooled, the pie can be served at room temperature or chilled.
Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or toasted almonds if desired.
This Honey Pie is a lusciously smooth dessert that perfectly balances the flavors of honey and cream, making it an ideal treat for any occasion. Each slice offers a taste of the love and labor that goes into every jar of Waterford Bee Company’s honey, making it more than just a dessert—it's a story on a plate.
Enjoy your baking and the delicious rewards!
